Donald Cooper started roofing as a young boy with his father, William Cooper, in 1966. He became a journeyman roofer in the late 1970's and took over the company in 1982.
Donald is a visionary and takes great pride in his employees, many of which have been with the company for close to 20 years. Customer service and care are his number one priorities. Donald’s main drive is for staff training in all areas, especially in quality workmanship; safety of staff/customers; and courteous continuous customer care.
The belief at Cooper Roofing is that the company is forming and building relationships with each customer for the entire life expectancy of their new roof, and the company will still be there for its customers’ future needs.
Donald brought his son Chad to the company in order to enhance and continue the ongoing professional customer care he believes is the foundation of customer service.
Development of team leadership and acting with integrity towards both the staff and customers is very important to the culture of the company.
Chad has worked with the company since 1996. He finished high school and immediately proceeded to Red Deer College, where he received a diploma in Business Administration. Chad obtained 9 years of field experience and then became a full-time general manager with the company.
Chad is a certified journeyman roofer and has field experience installing all types of roofing systems. He is in charge of the daily operations of the business, as well as quotations and crew scheduling for the commercial/industrial divisions. Building long-term relationships with customers and the community is very important to him.
By staying current in roofing design and keeping up with newly advanced materials and technical advancements in the roofing industry, he is able to recommend proper roofing design and materials to offer our clients affordable and quality roofing solutions.
Chad is honored to be a memer in a number of charity organizations in our community. He has been president of the Optimist Club of Red Deer and a Lieutenant Governor for Optimist International. He is also a member of the Kin Club, Red Deer.
Residential/Commercial Field Estimator
Jarrod has worked in the roofing industry for more than 10 years and has been involved in the construction trade more than 20 years. This includes Home Depot, Co-op, and many suppliers, thus arming him with a wide variety or skillsets, strength for the market and effective knowledge for the customer.
Through Jarrod’s numerous years of service, he has led many successful teams and has earned a diploma from Siast College, he graduated a carpentry program with honours through Ashworth, and has received his HAGG certification. He has also attended a multitude of seminars full of state-of-the-art technical advancements, environmentally-guided business practices, and he has gained world-class customer service oriented knowledge.
Jarrod prides himself on team unity, open and successful lines of thorough communication, strong business acumen, strategic planning, and above all, his devotion and first rate attitude toward exceptional customer service.
Residential Division Manager
Mark Hunter has been in the roofing industry since 1991, both in England and in Canada.
He obtained an advanced diploma from Wirral Metropolitan College in England, which gave him the foundation to provide superior service to his customers.
Mark’s extensive experience in the industry enables him to recommend and implement a roofing system to suit any residential application.
Mark has worked for Cooper Roofing for over 18 years.
Our controller, David Herdman, has 33 years of financial management experience, including 14 years of commercial lending. His experience ensures that our company will meet all of its obligations now and in the future.
Mr. Herdman also acts as a safety coordinator. He is a certified construction safety officer and a member of the Parkland Regional Safety Committee, which reports to the Alberta Construction Safety Association. This active participation allows our company to be on the leading edge of safety awareness and training.
She has played a key role in providing our customers, as well as our employees, with outstanding service, reliability and information.

Metal Roof Repair/Coatings Division Manager
Marcel Tone has been in the roofing industry for more than 10 years and has been involved in the construction trade for more than 20 years.
Marcel began his career with Cooper Roofing back in the mid-80s as a commercial roofing crew. He later ventured out and started up a successful painting business in the residential and commercial sectors. Marcel has gained valuable experience in customer service and coatings expertise due to being a business owner for 18+ years. As a result, he was able to make a successful/dynamic transition to becoming the Metal Roof Repair/Coatings Division Manager for Cooper Roofing.
Marcel strives to serve the customer with the highest level of quality workmanship and practical cost-effective solutions by staying up to date with the best products and procedures. He is enjoying his experience of not only growing with the company but also in building long-term customer relations.
